The Challenge
Luxe Threads NYC is a premium fashion e-commerce brand based in Manhattan. Despite a catalog of over 2,000 products and a loyal customer base, their organic growth had stalled. Paid acquisition costs were climbing while organic traffic sat flat at around 12,000 monthly visits.
The site suffered from several compounding issues. Category pages used boilerplate descriptions that created thin content across dozens of URLs. Product pages lacked structured data. Mobile performance was poor — pages took nearly six seconds to load on 4G connections, which pushed bounce rates above 65%.
Our APEX Strategy
Audit
Our technical crawl uncovered 340+ issues including duplicate meta tags across 120 category pages, broken canonical tags, and orphaned product URLs that were consuming crawl budget. The speed audit identified uncompressed images (averaging 2.4MB each) and render-blocking JavaScript as the primary bottlenecks.
Plan
We prioritized three workstreams: (1) technical speed overhaul to reduce LCP below 2 seconds, (2) category page content strategy targeting commercial keywords with real search demand, and (3) a blog content program to capture informational queries and feed the funnel.
Execute
We rewrote 45 category page descriptions with unique, keyword-targeted content. Each page received custom product schema markup. We implemented next-gen image formats, lazy loading, and deferred non-critical scripts. The blog launched with two posts per week targeting long-tail fashion and styling queries.
eXcel
By month 4, traffic began compounding. We expanded keyword targets based on ranking momentum, A/B tested title tags on top-performing pages, and scaled content production for seasonal trends. Internal linking was rebuilt to pass authority from high-traffic blog posts to commercial pages.
Results
The numbers tell the story. Within 8 months, organic traffic grew from 12,000 to 34,200 monthly visits — a 185% increase. More importantly, revenue attributed to organic search jumped from $380K to $1.58M annually. The mobile speed improvement alone reduced bounce rate by 28 percentage points, converting thousands of previously-lost visitors into buyers.
